Raw Video - Fire Rages at Texas Plant

Several explosions at a Mont Belvieu plant were followed by flames that could be seen all the way to downtown Houston. The huge fire continued to burn Tuesday afternoon at Enterprise Products at 135 Sun Oil Road. Witnesses reported seeing workers fleeing from the Chambers County plant around 12:25 p.m. Other workers were being told to stay inside. A company spokesman confirmed that at least one contractor has not been accounted for. A police dispatcher said there were no reports of injuries. San Jacinto Methodist Hospital said they had no patients from the plant. “My ex husband called my kids & told them that him and his crew got out by the skin [of] their teeth," Robin posted on the 11 News Facebook page. "But his truck was right there as the tank blew!” Flames spread to several nearby vehicles and at least one building. Chambers County officials say there's no known threat to the public at this time. They have not called for evacuations. A shelter-in-place advisory was issued as a precaution by Barbers Hill ISD for schools a few miles away. State Highway 146 is closed near the plant. The fire was still burning out of control nearly two hours after it began.
