Public Buses Brave Flooded Bridge in Nicaragua

Sept. 07, 2010 After visiting Quilali, Nicaragua to assist Mano a Mano Para La Salud, we were heading for the airport in Managua and had to stop at this flooded bridge. We saw some public transportation buses cross while the water was still 4 feet over the bridge. We waited until it was 3 feet over the bridge before we crossed in our van. However, we had the van in neutral, engine off and 7 Nicaraguans pushed us across.
