An 8,2 Earthquake striked at April 1st. in mall Zofri located in the northern city of Chile, Iquique. The earthquake caused power outages and water shortages, although the vast majority of the buildings remained undamaged because of strict anti-earthquake building measures in the country. At the moment there are just 6 deaths, 4 of them because of heart attacks and 2 were killed by crushing. As emergency lights turned on, the cameraman urges people to remain calm while narrating the facts quite calmed: - "This earthquake is very strong, it is probably Grade 8" - "The structure moves completely. See the pillars." - "People left their jobs" Chile, like Japan, is one of the most seismic countries of the world, so people here is very accustomed to earthquakes. Indeed, the people here calls a difference: when the seisms have a magnitud lower than 7.0-7.2 in Richter scale they are usually called "temblors" (local denomination for low power earthquakes), and only when they are really powerful, harmful or strong they are called earthquakes.
