U.S. Military Veteran Denied Free Meal Promised by McDonald's On Veteran's Day

Jeremy Clayton So the story behind this is I was in mcdonalds about 20 minutes before and was told since i didnt have a valid military ID i would have to pay for the big mac meal they were supposedly giving to veterans for free. After trying to explain that that i had temporarily misplaced my military ID and presenting my VA ID card that it was not sufficient enough to prove I am a veteran. I mustered the most polite "fuck you and have a nice day" that I could and cancelled my entire family's order and walked out. November 11 at 6:10pm via mobile . 2 Jeremy Clayton Ok, talked to the store manager and she says the shift manager will be reprimanded.....also talked to the store owner who was kind enough to offer some coupons and apologized for the other lady before wanting to know if I would take down the video. I actually declined the coupons and free meal and told the owner the video would NOT be taken down...It's about much more than just a $6 big mac meal now...I proposed that McDonalds should do more for veterans and that the store this incident occurred in ( highway 51, in covington TN) should allow veterans to perhaps get a free sandwich a day or something similar. While this McDonalds allows the local police to eat free meals I was told they likely would not be able to do anything long term for the local vets, their counter idea was a free burger a month for the next 6 months for local veterans ( an insulting offer from the worlds largest fast food chain if you ask me).
